Tony Hassed is President of the Rotary Club of Wellington (2013/14) and is principal and founder of Board Sense Limited, which provides a range of services including workshops, consulting, board performance reviews, board competencies, mentoring and short courses aimed at assisting those responsible for governance and also assisting the principal paid employee of an organisation. Tony is passionate about governance being simple but effective.
He has served on over 30 boards himself and has been a consultant to over 100 CEO's and 450 boards, and so brings a wealth of experience to the Workplace Savings NZ Education Programme.
Tony is Chairman of the Upper Hutt Health Centre, the Greater Wellington YMCA a time share resort, the Anglican Resource Centre and Columbia Group Limited and is a director of NZ Kindergarten Inc.
He was formerly Chair of the Audit NZ Advisory Board, Chair of Quality Health and Chair and President of the New Zealand Institute of Management.
In 1996 Tony was awarded an inaugural Life Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management.
Tony is former CEO General Finance; a Senior Executive with the National Provident Fund; an investment company General Manager, an IBM manager and an advisor in management, marketing and acquisitions.
His areas of special interest include governance, leadership, strategic perspectives, finance and management, change management and business mentoring at both CEO and new manager levels.
