Tim Brown is a director of Wellington Airport and NZ Bus which provides most of the region’s public transport. He is also a trustee of the body which puts on the annual Fringe and CubaDupa festivals and is a keen diver and mountain biker.
Where Wellington is today is defined by some exceptional people and participation. Morrison, Jackson, Drury, Morgan; in equal parts “wow” and “what if?” At the same time we are a city of walkers and it seems everyone wants to be involved and is willing to help out. There has been a lot of luck putting Wellington where it is today, but let’s not rely on that. Some personal observations about how to start a street festival and how to improve the regions global connectivity. And what lessons can be taken to ensure we continue to attract exceptionals and encourage participation.
