Nigel Gould is a member of the Rotary Club of Wellington and Massey University Foundation board member. He brings 30 years’ experience in public and private sector governance roles. He’s held positions as:
• chairman of Port Wellington Ltd, now CentrePort
• chairman of the Wellington Regional Transitional Committee
• pro-chancellor and chancellor of Massey University
• chairman of the Universities Chancellors Committee.
Nigel has a strong interest in tourism and travel and is a past chair of the Greater Wellington Promotional Council. He was also closely involved in establishing the Wellington Street Race which coordinated the annual Nissan Mobil 500 Street Race.
He’s a Justice of the Peace. He’s also a fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Directors and the New Zealand Institute of Management. He’s the director of a number of private companies.
A keen sailor, Nigel is past patron or vice president of three Wellington yacht clubs. He’s completed a ‘blue water’ sailing trip to the Pacific Islands, something he describes as an enjoyable and challenging experience of preparation and unique responsibility.
